Accordion Menu Drupal Module

If you want to make fancy accordion menu on your Drupal site, you can use Accordion Menu module to convert your menu to accordion menu. It will show you menu active states there.

To achieve this, you need to download Accordion Menu from:


Because this module is dependent with Jquery UI module, you need to download it from:


After you enable both modules on your site, you can go to “Site Configuration –> Accordion Menu Setting”. Then you need to select which menu that you want to show as accordion menu.

You can now go to Site Building –> Blocks, then enable your accordion menu. Then you have accordion menu on your site. You need to add your css to get nicer accordion menu.

Debian 5 ‘Lenny’ Released

debian logo Debian project already released Debian GNU/Linux version 5.0 (codenamed “Lenny”) at February 14, 2009. Debian GNU/Linux is a free operating system, developed by more than a thousand volunteers from all over the world who collaborate via the Internet.

jQuery 1.3 Released

jQuery team announced a major release yesterday. It is about 49% faster than previous engine. The big features of this release are:

  • Sizzle: A sizzlin’ hot CSS selector engine.
  • Live Events: Event delegation with a jQuery twist.
  • jQuery Event Overhaul: Completely rewired to simplify event handling.
  • HTML Injection Rewrite: Lightning-fast HTML appending.
  • Offset Rewrite: Super-quick position calculation.
  • No More Browser Sniffing: Using feature detection to help jQuery last for many more years to come.

Magento 1.1.8 Released

Magento 1.1.8 has been released. This was quite a quick release given that their previous version just release in one week ago. They fixed around 18 bugs. Thank you Magento teams.

Magento Ecommerce

Magento is open source ecommerce application. Since launch on March 31, 2008. It has exceeded 500.000 download. Magento has many features to build web store out of the box.

Currently Magento still lack the documentation. I hope since the community is growing fast. The documentation will be better.

If we want to build web store with open source software. You can start to use Magento.

Installing Canon Pixma iP1880 in Ubuntu 8.10

If you are running Ubuntu 8.10 Linux and going to connect your Canon Pixma iP1880 printer, then it is not yet plug and play.

Canon provide driver for linux. But they have not yet provided driver for Ubuntu 8.10. The good news is someone has provided us driver for Ubuntu 8.10.

Before you install it, you need to make soflink from cups to cupsys. To do this, open a terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal) and give the command.

sudo ln -s /etc/init.d/cups /etc/init.d/cupsys

After you have installed two files from above links. Now you can install your printer as normal under administration—>printing.
